About the library
AirwayControl Aircraft Library is a free, open collection of aircraft drawings: a side profile and a top view of every type, all drawn the same way, so they can sit side by side.
Why it exists
We draw every aircraft for AirwayControl, a calm flight tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch. The drawings were made for the app, and they are too useful to keep there. Here they are, 3,202 of them across 293 types, for anyone to use.
Where the data comes from
The drawings are ours. Type codes follow ICAO Doc 8643. Specifications come from the AirwayControl spec register, curated from Wikipedia and manufacturer pages; figures vary between variants and are for reference, not for operations. The summary on each page is the first paragraph of the Wikipedia article, with a link back and its own licence.
What is missing
Not every type has specifications yet, and a few drawings show the most common variant rather than the one you might have in mind. If something is wrong, it will be fixed.
